I LIKE TEACHING.

I like teaching, I think that teaching and answering to questions of the students is an enriching experience because you are stimulated to investigate deeper in your knowlege and find the best way to transfer it clearly and efficiently.

I have learned things that I didn’t know from all my students, since this art and craft is so vast that is impossible to know everything.

Since 2001 I have had in my workshop several apprentices,  most of them have continued to collaborate with me after the apprenticeship and then have become professional luthiers on their own and I am very proud of this.

I believe that guitarmaking has no secrets, it is just matter of developing your own sensibility through work and experience and understand what you want to obtain, in terms of sound, playability, aesthetic, etc..

Some basic principles of phisycs and acoustic are very important to know, also listening to music and play the guitar or another instrument is very important in order to develop a taste for sound quality .

So I basically try to give to my students the fundamental principles to develop their own way.

With many of them I continue to collaborate, we are a team where anyone shares his own experience and information; we often meet and compare our instruments.

This is the list of my apprentices:

I have the project to start an International guitarmaking course in a near future but I still do not know when it will be possible since at the moment I am involved full time in construction and research.

I am available for lectures, conferences and workshops on my work, my building philosophy and the traditional Spanish classical guitar in general.

Please contact me  by mail if you are interested.
